Travis specializes in unitary valuation of wireline and wireless communication, fluid pipeline, natural gas distribution and transmission, electric generation, transmission and distribution, railroad and airline companies. In addition, he provides nationwide representation with appeals, settlements and litigation support before state and local taxing authorities.
Prior to joining Kroll (formerly Duff & Phelps), Travis was a senior property tax agent with both Atmos Energy and Energy Future Holdings based in Dallas, Texas. His responsibilities included compliance, valuation and negotiation for their gas and electric facilities. Travis began his appraisal and property tax career with the Liberty, Montgomery, Wood and Dallas County Appraisal Districts where he specialized in commercial real estate and business personal property.
Travis has presented at the Southern Association of State Property Tax Administrators (SASPTA) and contributed to the ad valorem taxation chapter in “Cost of Capital in Litigation” by Shannon Pratt and Roger Grabowski. Travis is a Certified Property Tax Consultant in Texas.
