Sameer Koranne

Sameer leverages more than 25 years of proven experience in cybersecurity, OT security and IT to spearhead Kroll’s global OT cybersecurity strategies, ensuring the robust security of the critical infrastructure of major businesses. His leadership encompasses advisory, transformation, managed services, and digital forensics and incident response (DFIR). Sameer’s deep expertise, strategic foresight and commitment to advancing cybersecurity practices consistently position him as a trusted advisor to executive leadership worldwide.

Prior to joining Kroll, Sameer served as Global Head of OT Security at IBM X-Force, where he directed strategic OT cybersecurity initiatives, leading global teams in offensive, defensive and intelligence services for clients across transportation, energy and manufacturing sectors. His accomplishments include establishing standardized OT security services, strategic vendor partnerships and advanced training programs enhancing organizational cybersecurity maturity. Before that, he held the title of Global OT Security Officer at Covestro, a leading chemicals manufacturing company, where he successfully implemented comprehensive OT cybersecurity frameworks across 36 global production sites, integrating standards such as ISA/IEC62443 and NIST CSF.

Sameer holds an MBA in finance from the University of Houston Clear Lake and a Bachelor of Engineering from Shiviaji University. He also holds professional certifications such as PMP, CISSP, CCSP, GICSP and ISA 62443 Expert.

An active contributor to the cybersecurity community, Sameer participates in critical security associations. He also authored “The Open Threat Hunting Framework”, a new threat hunting framework, which was presented at Black Hat USA 2022.
