Paul Cooper is a Managing Director and leads the firm’s UK Transaction Tax practice, based in the London office.

Paul has more than 25 years’ experience in the tax and deals space, both as an advisor and principal. Prior to joining the firm, Paul had lead deals tax teams as a partner at PWC, KPMG and Grant Thornton. He has also worked in the Private Equity industry at Terra Firma Capital Partners and as the Chief Operating Officer at Lion Capital.

In addition to proving UK and international tax due diligence and structuring advice on deals, Paul also provides tax advice on a range of other corporate events such as listings, refinancings, international expansion, restructurings and management incentive planning. He also advises private equity funds and alternative investment managers and their owners on tax issues such as fund and carried interest structuring.

Paul is a chartered accountant and chartered tax advisor. He has a first in Physics from Durham University and a post grad qualification in Data Science from Newcastle University.
