David Riley is Managing Director in the Restructuring practice, based in Manchester. David leverages over 30 years of experience in assisting clients with restructuring, M&A transactions, debt advisory, financial due diligence and formal insolvency cases.

David is a qualified Insolvency Practitioner and Chartered Accountant. He works with a diverse range of clients across corporates, financial institutions, PE, asset-based lenders and law firms.

Prior to joining Kroll, David was an Advisory Partner at Crowe UK, an audit, tax and risk consulting firm. Before that, David served as a CEO for a distressed PE engineering fund and as a Partner for a £20 million fund in a special situations distressed environment. He has also held positions at Bibby Financial Services, Grant Thornton UK and Ernst & Young.  

Notable assignments include: 

  • Raising £20 million in refinancing for an SME 
  • Advising on the sale of a property portfolio for £.6 billion
  • FDD on the acquisition of Thompson Contractors

David is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. David holds a Bachelor of Science (Social Sciences) in economics from Bristol University.
