David Ratnarajah

David has over 35 years of experience in sales tax consulting, compliance and process improvements.

David has advised and serviced clients on projects including those involving nexus studies, multistate taxability studies, exposure analysis, refund reviews, voluntary disclosure agreements, audit support and representing at appeal hearings for clients domiciled in the U.S. and abroad.

Prior to joining Kroll, David served as Managing Director at BDO USA leading the New York Metro Sales and Use Tax practice. David’s clients were across industries, including financial investment services, e-commerce, software/SaaS, manufacturing, retail, technology, pharmaceuticals and entertainment.

Prior to BDO, David served as Head of Indirect Tax Team at Morgan Stanley. His team was responsible for all sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, NYC commercial rent tax, business license, personal property tax and audit defense. Prior to Morgan Stanley, David was with PricewaterhouseCoopers as Director in the Sales and Tax Consulting practice. David began his sales tax career as a sales tax auditor with California Board of Equalization.
